•• Intro ••
Prior to purchasing these Yupik's, I consumed a 1lbs package of Viva Naturals Goji Berries. The Viva Naturals cost almost twice the $ amount per pound. I wondered what the difference would be for this cheaper Yupik selection.
•• How's the value? ••
For the money, I've concluded that this 1kg bag of Yupik is a solid value. HOWEVER, compared to the viva naturals organic goji's, Yupik's taste more dry and almost stale. The best before date is mid 2019 (it's Dec. 2017, as I write this review), so it isn't like I received an old lot. It means to sell these things at a price to beat out competitors, Yupik cut some quality corners.
In spite of the fact that they are harder and further dehydrated than competitors, I still believe they're a good buy. The quantity is excellent, and you can kill that stale-ness by partially reconstituting them in liquid (almond milk, water, etc). You can also make them into tea, which renders them virtually indistinguishable from "fresher" berries. You could also grind them into protein shakes or just into powder, and they'd be far more palatable.
•• Conclusion ••
I'll re-state… they're good. Consuming these isn't like eating an inedible set of 2 year stale crackers. I eat the Yupik goji's by the handful every day to give a little morning boost, pre-workout boost, what have you. They're simply not AS GOOD as more expensive, fresher tasting offerings. I maintain that they're a good price if you value the nutritional benefits over the single-item flavour. The price cannot be beat, it seems.

Weren't really hard or hard to chew like some brands. Good quality, good flavor. They're called the happiness berry, didn't notice any increase in a positive mood or anything like that. This brand was the best price for the amount of product you get of any gojis I've found anywhere. I bought another brand that was double the price for the amount of product you get. It was a good product but I find these to be just as good and the value is much better. If I ever buy gojis s again, I'll be going with these.

Yes, these seem a bit on the dry side, but it appears to me to be needed to store these for long safely, after all these are dried berries. I just soak these in water, together with my chia seeds for few hours in the fridge. It makes a delicious treat that way. Also if I add a lot of water, it makes a lovely drink too.

I like that the larger size bag means less ordering.
The berries are delicious.
The product is somewhat pricey.

I regularly eat goji berries and I have never had a batch like this one that disappointed me like this. It tastes very off. There is no bright, sweet, and tangy taste like I am used to – instead it tastes like it has gone bad and leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste. I wish I hadn't spent money on this as it seems I can't get a refund.
