These are the greatest socks for wintertime. I've been buying them for years from Mountain Equipment Coop so was quite pleased to see Amazon carrying a nice color assortment which MEC does not. I've always been very hard on socks, especially wool ones, and they don't last long before I've put holes in the toes and/or heels. These Hiker GX socks have stood the test of years of use without holes and they are very comfy and warm and keep your feet dry. Nicest part is the price is less than all other Merino wool socks so you can't go wrong giving them a try. They are now my "go to sock" for winter. My nieces were stealing them from me because they love them too so guess what they are getting for Christmas.

I bought these socks to take with me to Uganda. I am a wildlife biologist, and I work mainly in the swamps and bushland of East Africa.
These socks are comfortable and offer good cushioning. They do not try to slide off my foot while in the boot, whether that boot is a rubber/neoprene knee boot or a ankle-high hiking boot. They are on the hot side, so maybe not the best choice for dry land hiking on the equator, but hot feet never bothered me. They do dry relatively quickly and hold their shape when air-dried, which is a huge plus. They also no not hold on to scents, another plus when it comes to mucky wetland work.
Would buy again.

I really like these socks. They are warm and comfortable and fairly durable. The elastic wears out after two or three years, but I wear them year-round. More expensive merino-based socks last longer, but these are great for what they cost. I will continue to buy them.

Fabulous, warm socks. Nice elastic in tops so they don't "walk off your feet" when you are wearing them in winter boots. They go into the washer on a warm or cold setting and dryer and come out great. They feel fabulous and are nice and warm.

As warm as expected. LOVE the colors, would like to see more variety like this. Only bad thing is they tend to lose their ability to stay up the longer you wear them. If you are working more than an 8 hour day, you may find them too loose.

Well made, comfortable and warm. Wash well and fit is great.

These are great socks but far far too tight on the foot and leg

I washed these twice and for some reason they smell like something excreted into the sock. So bizarre. What chemical is that!? I don’t even want to wear it because I’m worried what could happen!
