I have mature skin that will quickly become dry if I don't moisturize it on a regular basis and lotions alone is not enough. I find that a serum is far more effective in moisturizing my skin, it works faster and seems to penetrate the skin much better. Over the years I've tried many different serums and what I have find to be the best is niacinamide. I use it immediately after cleansing my skin.
This Korean niacinamide is an excellent example of a niacinamide. A little goes a long way, it absorbs into the skin without leaving a tacky residue. I wait a couple of minutes and then continue applying my lotions and make up in the morning and evening. I find that the niacinamide moisturizes so well that I don't need the extra primer before applying my make up.
The TOSOWOONG niacinamide 15 face serum is an excellent product for a reasonable price point.

This face serum from Tosowoong comes in a 30 ml dropper bottle. This serum is scentless which is great for people who are sensitive to that. This serum is easy to apply with fairly quick absorption. This serum provides nice hydration and moisturizing the skin well. I do think this product is good enough for year round usage. The current price of $29 CAD is reasonable.

I have a few sunspots on my cheeks, after using this for about a week, I can see a subtle difference. The sunspots did not diminish, but gotten a little lighter. I've very surprised how well my skin is reacting to it. It's very fast absorbing, non sticky and good consistency. So far so good, I hope it can help get rid of my sun spots in the long term.

This serum comes in a black plastic bottle with a dropper dispenser. The serum is clear and watery in texture. It spreads easily but doesn't absorb well and leaves me feeling like I have a sticky layer on my face. Even after applying moisturizer over top, it remains very sticky and tight feeling. For me it is unpleasant to use and I had to wash it off. I have dry skin and maybe this this serum is intended more for oily skin. I love other serums from this company so it isn't a quality issue. This serum is just not a match for my dry skin. (I love the TOSOWOONG Black Snail Ginseng Serum which is great for dry skin.)

I was a little hesitant with ordering this serum at first due to the very high percentage of Niacinamide since I have extremely sensitive skin but after a week of use, I have had no sensitivity or breakouts from this product. It is a clear, scent free liquid that has a transparent glass dropper for application and comes in a dark black plastic bottle.
Aside from my sensitive skin, I also suffer with melasma which is a hyperpigmentation caused from overactive hormones (estrogen) and with sun exposure, the darker patches tend to worsen. I have been looking for spot treatment for awhile now and while i do wear sunscreen daily, nothing i have used has helped. I was on Hydroquinone but decided to stop using it as it has a bad smell and I have heard horror stories about skin issues (even cancer) from extended use. This serum goes on smoothly and evenly and seems to be lightening my dark patches – although very minimal. I have not used the product long enough to experience the long term effects but I am hoping that with continued use, it will fade the dark areas of my skin even further. If so, I will definitely be purchasing this again!

This is a highly concentrated niacinamide serum, so you do have to be careful to see if you can tolerate it, I started myself low 5% and slowly worked my way to 10%. And also, whether you need it to be so high, depends on how serious your hyperpigmentation / unevenness is. If you get irritation, or don't want to use such a high concentration, just dilute it with another light serum is what I do. It is a light watery serum, I do feel hydrated afterwards, and I do layer a few serums on before my moisturiser, and it feels good so far.

I love how this serum is not too thick or too thin. It has a nice consistency. It does not give that glass skin look to me, but it does moisturize my face and absorbs nicely. I will continue to use it if it evens out my skin tone..
