Our partnership with the Québec Ministry of Forest, Wildlife and Parks as well as the Canadian Fur Institute, insure a certified, first-rate, and high-performance product.
Our team's priorities are to listen to our customers and to constantly develop excellent products. We serves several maple producers, exterminators, hunting and fishing stores, trappers, farms, and the public.
Why the Ouell traps and not the others….
Durable, Reusable, Built to last!
We have chosen very durable top quality materials to build our traps such as cedar, galvanized steel or ABS plastic! Initially, Ouell traps were invented for trappers so they are made to spend the year outside in bad weather. You won't see the end of it and you will catch a lot with it, our traps are reusable many many times!
Pure power for less pain
No poison, no injury, our traps are designed to eliminate harmful rodents on the spot. With our ultra-powerful springs. As soon as the animal enters the tip of the nose, the trigger will activate the levers to hit the rodent at the level of the neck. The animal will not have to enter the traps and will not suffer.
Safety first!
It is important to always use the built-in safety hook as long as you have to handle the trap. When the procedure is followed, our traps are among the safest on the market.
No need to touch the animal
With our 2-lever system, only the bottom bar will hit the animal. The upper bar will therefore serve as a lever to dispose of the animal without having to touch the carcass.

Ouell 4-11 ~ Easy and quick to install, it's like counting 1, 2, 3, 4!
Step 1 – Install the bait
Open the rear door. Insert the bait – we suggest a piece of berry granola bar for the squirrels – into the nail. Close the back door once the bait is in place.
Step 2 – Pull the upper bar
Facing the back of the trap, pull the top bar back and hook the safety hook. Repeat the operation with the second bar. Pull it to the rear and join it to the first, keeping them both in place with the safety hook to prevent any injury during handling.
Step 3 – Set the trigger
Without removing the safety hook, pass the rod that is on the top of the trap, over the bars that you have just attached, then insert it into the upper half-circle of the trigger. The more the semi-circle of the trigger is on the end of the rod, the more the trigger will be sensitive and the faster the triggering will be.
Please note that to facilitate the insertion of the rod into the trigger, you may have to press with the palm of your hand on the bars which are still retained by the safety hook.
Set 4 – Fix the trap
It's always important to set the trap because the animal you're about to catch will always be a meal of choice for another predator and you don't want that predator running away with your trap by the same time.
Use the ring on the side to attach it with a cable or use the hole in the wooden plate behind the door to secure your Ouell 4-11.
Once all the steps are completed and you no longer have to touch your trap, remove the safety hook.

Which bait goes with which animal…
Squirrel
For squirrels we suggest using a granola snack bar with berries. The mixture of granola, the smell of fruit and the sweet taste is very effective in attracting squirrels. It is certain that peanut butter can be effective as well.
Muskrat
Muskrats love carrots! Cut it to give a good piece of about 1" cube and prick it in our Ouell RM for excellent results.
Groundhog / marmot
Most of the year, you will succeed in your groundhog fights using alfalfa sprouts, green cabbage or carrots! However, in the spring, we suggest grapes (red or green) or apple wedges.
Rat
A very good bait that was suggested to us by an excellent exterminator, is to keep the grease from cooking bacon. Once cooled, make a mixture with the fat and small dried grapes. Make small balls and put them in the traps for very good results!
