Why pyramid flakes?
Not all sea salt is made equal. The all natural pyramid flake crytals we craft require a lot of love and care (and a lot of boring science stuff we won't go into) . We make them because it's worth it. Owing to their crystalline structure, these hollow pyramid sea salt flakes last longer on the surface of food (comprared to a fine / table salt). This makes them the perfect 'finishing salt'. Their large surface area brings a burst of salinity in concentrated areas, resulting in a heterogenous eating experience. Sprinkled on a plate just before serving they bring texture (a salty crunch), a boost of flavour, and beautful presentation to all of your dishes.

After harvesting, our Maple Smoked Sea Salt Flakes are lovingly smoked for several days in small batches using real maple wood.
The result is a savoury smokiness to your favourite dishes like grilled or roasted meats, cauliflower rice, veggie toasts, salted caramel, brownies & cookies. It’s perfect as a cocktail rimmer for margaritas, bloody marys and Canadian Caesars!
Beautiful Salt From a Beautiful Place
Your sea salt doesn't need to come from one of the world's most beautiful islands, but you'll be happy that it does! We draw from some of the cleanest and fastest moving waters in the world. Every drop of seawater that enters our harvestry is put to use. The ocean minerals that don't make it into our salt find a purpose feeding local dairy cattle or enriching the soil on the stunning 400 acre farm where we're located.

Step 1: Water Collection
We draw seawater from some of the fastest moving waters in the world, only at high tide from our own beautiful 2km stretch of private beach.

Step 2: Filtration
Multiple stages of micro-filtration remove any impurities in the water while leaving the salt and healthy trace minerals for harvesting.

Step 3: Concentration
The filtered seawater is gently boiled under vacuum pressure into a concentrated brine.

Step 4: Crystallization
Concentrated brine is moved to shallow open evaporation tanks where it slowly transforms into beautiful pyramid crystals, after which it is hand-harvested and hand-packaged.
