Tastes OK but still a bit powdery.

It comes in a pale powder form as do most protein shakes and similar products, however it turns a nice green color when you add water. It dissolves quite quickly in water and you can get it to a good consistency pretty quickly.
It comes in a vanilla flavour, however it doesn't really taste like vanilla to me, and just more of generic 'sweet' taste. It doesn't have the very 'artificial' flavour/sweetener taste that some other similar products have.
As a meal replacement, it does a pretty decent job at keeping you 'full' for a couple hours, perfect for busy days.

I use it for smoothies, but a different flavour

This is really easy to mix into water and the taste is good for what it is. Its not going to taste like a creamy milkshake but for a protein shake in water. It’s amazing. If you blend it into a smoothie with banana, it’s even better but I prefer to use it on its own. Great meal replacement.

Product Claims
799 g Plant-based, chocolate-flavored, protein-powder mix
If you insist on fully organic, certified vegan, this might not be your product. If you are somewhat less fussy about your powdered nutritional supplement, this is a great product, so please read on.
The item was received in a large plastic screw-top container, typical of protein shake mixes. The contents were supposed to contain 799 grams of product, and while I did not empty the container to verify that exactly, I did estimate the empty container weight based on another of similar size, and the contents do appear to weigh approximately the claimed amount. A full container provides about 20 servings of product.
For full transparency, I personally don't care for protein powder shakes, so a review from me on taste and mouth feel would be meaningless. But my wife has a long history with a variety of powdered plant-based-protein nutrition shake additions; she drinks them daily, so the comments on taste and mouth feel in this review come from her. She did a side-by-side taste test using oat milk as the base, using usual Orgain brand chocolate-flavored vegan powder as the control.
As background, this Vitasave product is listed as gluten-free, soy-free, non-GMO, and non-dairy, with 140 calories per 40 gram serving size (1 of their larger scoops). The Orgain control product claimed those same characteristics but also definitively said that it was vegan (while there are no animal-based ingredients listed, Vitasave did not make that claim), and Orgain notes that it is certified USDA Organic, and has 0 grams of sugar (the Vitasave product includes 1 gram of sugar from natural sources, and makes no Organic claim) and 150 calories per 46 gram serving size (2 of their smaller scoops). (In each case the above amounts were mixed with 1 cup of oat milk using a mixing drink shaker container; note that the nutritional content of the oat milk is not included in this discussion.) The other major distinction is that the Vitasave product is a broad nutrition supplement, with 16 other vitamin and mineral nutrients included in the mix, and 8 g of fiber and 1 billion CFU (colony forming units) of bacillus coagulans probiotic (an amount on the high end of the known safe range), whereas the specific Orgain product she compared to was primarily a protein supplement, with 6 g of combined fiber and an unspecified amount and type of probiotic added (subtracting 2 grams of fiber suggests that whatever item Orgain is adding to support their probiotic statement weighs 4 grams).
My wife found that both products mixed about the same in a mixing bottle. To bring both product to maximum consistency, she let the mixed products sit overnight in the refrigerator (this is important for both, if you want a thicker product). The Vitasave result was a darker, more chocolatey appearance, and the taste matched the color – it is mildly more cocoa-intensive than the control product, with cocoa listed second in the ingredient list in Vitasave. By comparison Orgain lists Cocoa as the 7th ingredient within the non-protein portion of the ingredient list (a subset of Orgain which makes up only a little over a half of the product). After letting them sit overnight, they tasted similar, and she liked them both. The Orgain was creamier tasting, but not any thicker. The Vitasave was less creamy, equally thick, slightly more chocolatey, and otherwise similar in taste.
My wife has tried many, many non-dairy protein powder supplements and has found few that she likes, with Orgain being her favorite. The Vitasave product is now a close second to Orgain for her, and she will happily drink Vitasave if it available at a competitive price.
We give them 5 stars for overall value by providing a "good" tasting (as good as any of these supplements taste) broad nutritional supplement for a reasonable price.

I am not a connoisseur of this type of product, but I do use them from time to time when I’m trying to lose weight or just be a little healthier in general. This product comes in a solid container with a lot of nutritional information on it. I felt like I knew exactly what to expect just from the label. I tried this product using just water and also with oat milk. The powder mixes well in the liquid, it did not take long to dissolve. There’s no hiding the fact that this powder is plant-based. I felt like I was drinking vegetables. The chocolate flavor is there, but a little too subtle in my opinion. If the chocolate factor was boosted a little bit more, I feel like this would have less of a vegetable taste. You definitely want to drink this cold, I tried at room temperature, and it was not pleasant. Overall, I think this is a decent product for the nutrition value. But you may want to throw some other healthy foods in there to enjoy the flavor.

Tastes terrible. Did not taste like chocolate.

I like that it is all plant based and that it has chocolate flavor. However it still tastes like chalk to me; especially when mixed with water as directed. I mix it with low-fat no-sugar added Greek vanilla yogurt and although an acquired taste, it is fine that way to me…
After a month's use, I can't say I noticed any difference at all in energy level or any other noticeable difference for that matter.
I won't be buying it again.
