Is the date on the bottle the production date or the expiration date?
The date on the bottle is the production date. Our product has a 270-day shelf life, noted on the packaging. We ensure the products you receive are as fresh as possible, with no near-expiry or expired items.
-
What makes ORIENTAL LEAF's appearance look very clean, unlike the cloudy or murky black teas I have seen before?
ORIENTAL LEAF uses LOG6 aseptic cold filling tech to ensure our products stay fresh, bright, and clean throughout shelf life without preservatives. The color reflects natural extraction from high-quality tea leaves.
-
Why does the color change? Is it normal? Will it affect the taste of tea drinks?
ORIENTAL LEAF's bottled tea is naturally extracted from tea leaves. The tea's color derives from natural components like tea polyphenols. Changes in color due to external environmental factors are normal and do not affect its consumption.
-
Why can I barely see any sediment in ORIENTAL LEAF? Are the bottled tea zero sugar really brewed from tea leaves?
All our products are extracted from real tea leaves. With our advanced manufacturing techniques and aseptic cold filling technology, ORIENTAL LEAF claims its clarity and just enough color of tea soup as cues of quality, purity and no preservatives.
-
What are the benefits of aseptic cold filling?
This world-class aseptic technology reduces exposure to high temperatures and eliminates the need for preservatives. It ensures safety while amplifying the retention of the cold brew iced tea's color, aroma, and taste.

The ORIENTALLEAF brand unsweetened jasmine iced green tea is presented as a premium import specialty beverage product for the Canadian market. This product represents a slightly different beverage product from traditional Canadian mainstream consumption where iced tea consumption is not a major beverage market share item, and the majority of existing products in the space, unlike the present product under review, are sweetened.
Several cues would suggest that the product is currently at the market testing stage where Amazon is frequently used for this purpose. The only English language on the product label is a hastily pasted over “Nutrition Facts” summary as required for food and beverage products marketed in North America. The dominant bottle size listing is provided as 16.9 ounces throughout the product description provided, with only a single small print mention of 500 mL on the neck label of the bottle.
This reviewer’s first exposure to unsweetened iced tea occurred many decades ago when growing up in small town Canada abruptly changed to undergraduate studies in Miami. A common sight on many student apartment balconies was a nondescript 1 gallon glass jar filled with water and numerous teabags left to marinate in the hot sun for a couple of days.
Presto: 1 gallon of sun brewed tea was now available for consumption. The usual style of the locals was to completely fill a glass with ice prior to adding the room temperature tea. Garnished with a slice of fresh lemon, this refreshing unsweetened beverage was popular for consumption at all hours of the day and night.
Iced tea consumption now accounts for 75-80% of all tea consumption in the U.S. Consumption of single serve specialty flavoured iced tea products is growing at a rate of 3-5% annually
The present product under review originates in China, a society where annual tea consumption per capita (.57 kg) is approximately the same as Canada (.51 kg). China is both the world’s largest grower (3 million tons) and exporter ($48 billion) of tea products.
The present product under review was manufactured using Aseptic filling systems that combine several elements into a single, integrated production line. This integrated approach helps to ensure microbiological safety throughout the process from initial treatment to the sealing of the finished product.
This reviewer received a box of jasmine flavoured iced tea, one of 6 flavors available for this product. Samples were informally shared with friends and the following comments summarize the sensory perceptions observed.
Everyone concurred that the packaging and presentation of the product was outstanding, with the unique transparent square bottles and artwork on the labelling. The overall consensus was that this beverage was more heavily focused on the jasmine component than the tea. The ultra pleasant jasmine aura brought back fond memories of similar scents observed in visits to outdoor markets in Southeast Asia.
The tea flavor was generally viewed as pleasant, but somewhat watery and needing a more robust flavor profile.
Conclusion:
The ORIENTALLEAF brand unsweetened jasmine iced green tea is presented as a premium import specialty beverage product for the Canadian market. An overall product score of 4/5 was assigned accordingly.

Living in a world that wants to put sugar in everything, it’s sometimes a bit of an adjustment to learn to eat and drink things without them being loaded with sugar. The key to this product is to recognize that this is not an American style sweet tea or a Canadian style of ice tea. There is no sugar in this product and it is also not the standard tea flavour that we are used to. If you are not used to this type of tea then it will take a few tries to get used to the flavour
I ordered two flavours of these. Here are my thoughts on each flavour:
Bottled Citrus Pu’er Tea: I ordered this one because it said that it has citrus (orange peel) but I actually didn’t really taste anything orange like in the drink. I had hoped that this would give it a bit more of fruity, slightly sweeter taste without having to add any actual sugar. On this level it was a bit disappointing. I really don’t know how to describe the flavour, it is slightly bitter and doesn’t totally have a tea flavour, you can mildly get a tea vibe from it, but it’s not obviously tea.
Bottled Green Tea: My normal go-to warm tea is green tea, so I thought I would give this flavour a try. At first I found it hard to believe it was green tea as it just didn’t have the flavour I am used to, but if I think hard on it then I feel like I can see the similarity. I’m having a hard time determining if this is because it’s a weaker flavour or a different brewing technique, it definitely leaves the same after taste as my regular tea.
You can drink these as is or if you do prefer some added flavour you could always add some sweetener. The nice thing about it being unsweetened is that you can choose what type of sweetener you would like to use to still keep it on the healthier level. The other option is to mix this with a bit of fruit juice to give it slightly more flavour.
As someone who works in an Import Warehouse adding Canadian labels to products, I just have to say that I would be out of a job if I put my labels on this crooked every time. There was not a bottle in the Citrus Pu’er box that had a straight label on it! The Green Tea box at least had most of them straight.

Good tea. Good price. Packaged nicely

Tastes very nice. Good for Canadians, where is is difficult to find non-sweetened packed iced tea. I understand that ascorbic (vitamin C) is added as a preservative and acidulant. Perhaps the sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) , is to counteract acidity. Good idea?? Either way, it is interesting that vit C or sodium are not listed on the nutritional contents – perhaps trace only. Good product.

would have liked the flavour to be stronger, but it's still good

I really liked the product, tastes good and super convenient pre-bottled.
This would be a go to daily drink for me, but I just can't justify the price.

Just like any tea lover out there, reading be description, it tastes how you’d think. Unsweetened and pure. Even better when served extra chilled on a hot summer day.
