Our fuller leaf teas steep slowly and evenly, delivering a smooth, rich flavor. Why do grades of tea matter? The larger the leaf, the greater its surface area for steeping and the more complex the infusion. Numi uses only hand-plucked, fuller leaf quality tea for a pure taste that balances depth and nuance. Many bagged teas are machine-picked and use low-quality fannings and dust. Smaller grades release tannins more quickly, leading to a dark, bitter-tasting cup. This Gunpowder Green Tea packs a punch! It has a smokey smell to it, but other than that it's a really great tea. After I drank it I was wired for about 7 hours. ( i don't drink much caffiene) It wasn't a bad kind of wired. I simply had a lot more energy. The taste is pretty smokey and it's hard to detect notes of the tea beyond that, but I do know it packs a great anti-oxidant punch, and so I definately will be getting it again. I love the Numi Brand, and this gunpowder tea lit up my day!

I've been drinking Numi tea for years, usually bought at my local health food store. But I found a 100 count option here at Amazon, which is economical in the long run. An added bonus is that it now gives me the opportunity to post my review and it is a pleasure to do so. So this is my review : a delicious tasting tea that is consistently fragrant, reliably organic and free of chemicals (tea bags included). I did the research for reliably organic safe teas and Numi was on the list of the good ones. It's nice to find a company with integrity. and it's good to find a brand I can trust, so thumbs up for Numi !
Update: March 17-20 : since last review have bought Rooibos, loose leaf Green and Earl Grey – love em all :))

Numi mate green tea is my most favorite of all green teas. I first had this tea at an Asian restaurant in the States at a casino and liked it so much that I had to buy some of my own. I am so glad that Amazon Canada sells this tea and really love the taste, aroma, colour and flavour. It's not overtly strong or bitter like some teas and the flavour lasts a long time. I usually use one tea bag twice by refilling hot ( not boiling hot) water in my 16 oz travel mug by using the same tea bag. I sometimes use 2 tea bags and fill a 4 cup tea pot and use a tea cozy to keep my tea hot. I find the tea tastes best when the water is not boiling hot, about 80 degrees farenheit max. I sometimes have to add a bit of cold water to my cup. I find the tea keeps me energized and the caffeine is not too high in content and I am able to sleep at night if I have a cup an hour or so before bed. I absolutely love this tea and have been buying this for a few years now.

It's the first time i've purchased genmaicha in tea bag form.. i've only ever purchased in bulk. I would say this is worth it to tuck a few in your desk drawer at work or in your bag. It's a little expensive for what you get in my opinion, but overall a good tasting tea. You can really smell the matcha in it if you know the smell between that and a regular loose leaf green. The taste is good as long as not over steeped. Would recommend

I absolutely love this tea. Has a delicate green flavour, with lots of nutty notes. I drink this tea in the morning with lemon and I feel great. For the price point it is worth buying, and comes with 18 bags which is a little over average.

Love the Numi Gunpowder green tea, however, my last order (checked the order again incase of any mistakes on my part, which there were not) of 100 teabags turned out to be Chamomile lemon which I do not like and on which there is no refund or return. Will think twice about ordering again.

I'm not typically a tea drinker but this stuff is great! It does taste like fruit loops milk, if you add sweetener and dairy. But, my favorite thing is to cold brew a few bags in a pitcher with lime aqua fresca to create what is essentially caffeinated lemonade. Great for hot days when you need a little boost. Will definitely buy again.

I'm big on drinking coffee or black tea every morning so it's nice to have an alternative. I only had it once so far so it's hard to say how much caffeine it actually has (will update later). As far as flavor goes, I really enjoyed it! It as a slightly earthy flavor but it's not over powering. I added unsweetened soy milk & honey to give it a little sweetness. I thought it made it taste like the milk from a bowl of fruit loops (but less sweet). Will be buying again!

Numi is known for good quality tea and this one is no different. It is a very unique tea though, it has a light lemon flavor but leaves your mouth feeling dry, it's hard to explain, it's not a negative, just very unique. It's one of my favorite lighter flavored lemon teas.
