This product was ordered and received before the first lockdown was declared in India mid-March 2020 in the wake of the ‘COVID-19’ pandemic.
‘Slippery Elm’ is a herb which helps soothe the digestive tract inside of the human body. It does not have the backing of any food or drug association as of now, but is generally seen to be a safe herb when taken in small and appropriate dosages. This product was chosen only when the herb was recommended by a Govt-certified ‘Ayurvedic’ practitioner, to help deal with digestive problems.
No health-based product can work ‘magically’ if we subject the body to constant abuse, by way of constantly feeding it with processed foods. Home-cooked food comprising mainly fresh fruits and vegetables, with appropriate intake of grains, pulses, legumes, pseudo-grains, nuts if well-tolerated by the body is what really fuels the body and aids its functioning in each and every way, including in digestion.
‘Slippery Elm’ was chosen only when even a balanced diet was not working by itself in the case of me and my parents.
We have always followed good dietary practices, including the ‘Ayurvedic’ guide to food combinations, cooking, intake of water and other fluids and so on. A prolonged period of family distress (not related to ‘COVID-19’) might have negatively affected our digestive tracts. Fortunately, we are now over that period of our lives.
Over-reliance on any one branch of medicine is not helpful. Following the best possible practices recommended under each branch of medicine, not contradicting each other, is what is truly needed.
Since I and my parents are Indian-vegetarians, and ‘Slippery Elm’ is not a herb widely found in even the best of health supplements manufactured for Indian consumers, this product was chosen. One container has a total of 100 capsules. It has a good support base online, and is ‘Vegan’, thereby safe for our consumption.
I and my parents are all different from each other in terms of our body composition as per ‘Ayurveda’: ‘Vata’ (Mom), ‘Pitta’ (I) and ‘Kapha’ (Dad). We were all recommended different dosages of the capsules accordingly. My parents were both asked to take the capsules in-between meal times, and I was specifically asked to take the capsules late-afternoon/early evening, preferably 30 minutes after drinking a cup of ‘Green Tea’, before dinner. Dinner had to be consumed at least an hour after having taken the capsules.
The capsules had a slightly ‘soapy’ taste. They are quite thick, and must be taken with a glass or two of plain water.
I cannot state if or not the herb did work, as it was only one of a number of measures recommended by the practitioner to address our digestive issues. However, we all did feel more energetic and less ‘bloated’. My Mom was most satisfied with the experience, followed by my Dad and I.
This could be, as the herb seemingly works better for those with ‘Vata’-type body constitution than ‘Kapha’ and ‘Pitta’ ones. This is not to question the efficacy of the herb/product, but attributes to its ‘mucus’-like properties, which support ‘Vata’ digestion better than ‘Kapha’ digestion and ‘Pitta’ digestion.
Overall, based on our collective experiences, I suggest this product be tried, but only after consultation, and under supervision, of a certified medical practitioner.

Read about Sippery Elm Bark on a pet supplement website, but had to purchase a whole jar of powder. Decided to go to the human Herbal capsules and although it smells awful to humans, I thought I probably would't like the smell of a dead mouse either. I started with 1/2 cap and now open 1 capsule over all his food for the day. He hates wet food, gets 3/4 cup dry food daily, and I also use Glandex, just 1/8 tsp. and Profivex 1/2 scoop by Vetinique, a U.S. company and sold on Amazon.ca. My cat is 16 years old & began having somach problems and, touch wood, this has made a great improvement. He seems to love, love the taste of Slippery Elm Bark and 180 caps cost about $18.00 on Amazon.ca. I have not been paid for a 5 star review, and hoestly this has helped my old boy. Grateful to have this product, also in pet supplement dept. by a Canadian company, maybe more econnomical if you have a larger dog.

This is good value for the money, however I prefer the NS brand for me. I'm not saying that this is a bad product I just prefer my regular.

Was diagnosed with Gastritis in November 2022, ppi’s didn’t work for me, I had very bad side effects. I wanted to take a natural approach along with a good diet. I take one of these every morning with a tall glass of water. When I was having extra discomfort throughout the day,I took a second capsule. It helped a lot, now, I only take it every other day or as needed. In the beginning of my healing journey, I also took Pepcid, but you have to take slipper elm a few hours before or after medication as said on the bottle

I heard about slippery elm, bark from a coworker about six years ago and tried the whole powder in a tincture thing. Didn’t like it. I found this product soon after and I’ve been using it consistently ever since with only a couple of breaks. It’s great; I rely on it a great deal.

Works fantastic for intestinal discomfort. I only take 2 before diner with a glass of water. It’s very hard on your stomach. Saw a few post that some people take this for stomach issues. These capsule are not for heartburns or acid reflux. It will make things worst.

Good to know that it worked for everyone, but not for me
tried it for Gerd, pain in esophagus, but it made my pain much much worse, unable to even eat for 24 hours.
Would recommend to start with 1 capsule (as i took 2 once in morning then 2 again in water after 8 hours)

The reason I think this is a really great product is because it's from a trusted brand. When it comes to supplements, it's so important to choose a reliable company. Not only do they offer quality products, but they also provide peace of mind because I know I’m getting what I pay for. I'm really pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to others.
