Outstanding Matcha for daily drinking. Vivid green and a little sweet, despite being unsweetened. This is the best bang for the buck and better than more expensive Matchas I have tried. Some negative reviews appear to be about receiving the wrong product, and those should be ignored.

I love this matcha and I’ve tried all kinds! It’s earthy but not grassy. Made with cows milk it gives me a jump on my daily protein consumption.
To make I combine 1 teaspoon of matcha with 1 tablespoon of super hot water, let it sit for five minutes and mix with a frother or vigorously shake. Then add 6 ounces of 2% milk (or milk of your choice) and if I’m feeling really crazy a couple of drops of vanilla extract and froth (or shake) again. Pour over ice and drink my breakfast of champions!
It took me a while to enjoy it without sweetener. I previously added a tablespoon of homemade date syrup, vanilla syrup, maple syrup, honey, etc.

Been drinking matcha for years and even visited the world famous Ippoddo in Japan. Ito En's unsweetened matcha is definitely best bang for buck and terrific quality. In fact, I like it better than some of the more expensive stuff that's sold in the tiny metal jar (inside the sealed silver bag, of course).
Matcha is definitely an acquired taste. I drink it plain (hot and cold) but you can easily use this with a type of milk, creamer, sugar, etc.
Sometimes I whisk it with my bamboo whisk and the whole 9 yards, but most days when I need my caffeine fix fast, I'll throw in about a big teaspoon of the matcha powder into a blender bottle with a tiny bit of cold water and shake it a bunch of times. Then I'll add hot (not boiling) water and shake again.
Always keep it in a dark, cool place. Squeeze out as much air as possible and drink daily. The quality will degrade over time so don't hang onto it for too long expecting it to still taste great.
I was lucky enough to buy a few 12 oz bags of these at a Grocery Outlet near me for $10 – $25 but not anymore. Now I'll happily buy them whenever and wherever I can get them, including Amazon for $46.50. I've contacted Ito En/Matcha Love since they were out of the 12 oz unsweetened matcha on their website. The rep said they're no longer going to carry these!

I have been buying this brand of Matcha for years. I loved it! I had tried so many brands to find the one I most liked. I ordered it in December for Christmas gifts for a few people that love Matcha. I also ordered myself two bags at the same time as the price was good. When I was finishing my current bag of Ito En Matcha, I got my next bag out to refill my tin that I keep my daily matcha in. As soon as I opened the bag I could tell that the color was wrong. The smell was wrong. I made a cup and the flavor was wrong. I consider this to be false advertising/fraud and am going to try to pursue a refund. It is wrong to change a product and not let the customer know they are not getting the quality they have in the past!
