The plates are hard plastic and not too flimsy.
A little thinner than I expected but I’m sure they will be sturdy enough for food. This set is very elegant which is the look I was going for. I’m a little disappointed that one of the plates are scratched on the gold rim part. ( I’ll get over it 😩) The cups are cute and made like your average plastic cups, as well as the silverware. I am satisfied for the most part! I would but again
