This is just what I needed. The handle on my mother-in-law's 40-year-old sieve broke, and I needed to replace it. This one is just the thing. It is the perfect size and weight, does exactly what I need it to do when cooking, and has a stainless-steel handle that will withstand years of wear. The price was also right. I specifically brought this small strainer because its all one piece and doesn't have that 'lip' around the edges that connects it to a metal "net". I found that small pieces of whatever I was straining (rice) (finely chopped veggies) would get caught in this lip and wouldn't come out easily, causing the tool to be less clean that I would like. Every inch of this tool can be scrubbed clean, and there is no space for small food particles to hide. I'm very satisfied.

I liked the weight and size of this strainer but for some reason the last bit of water will never drain out! I have to create some suction like touching the underside which obviously isn’t going to work for draining pasta. Sad but returning to try one with bigger holes I guess.

Just received this stainless steel colander with handle today and have not used yet, but it looks and feels the quality I am looking for. Now that my husband and I are retired, no kids at home and cook just for us for the most part we really don't need the extra large stainless steel colander that we've had for decades as much. The small plastic collapsible colander I got a couple years ago ended up with with a tear in it, then noticed spaghetti I strained had red dye on the noodles from the plastic on the colander. I immediately chunked it, noodles and all! No more plastic!
