I am very happy with this hammer. The 15oz short handle hammer is still a fairly large hammer, and is by no means short, about 14 inches in length. For comparison, the long handle hammers are about 16 inches long.
It does differ slightly from the picture however. The black paint is matte, not shiny. The Leather grip extends about an inch further up the handle. Finally, the head is slightly differently designed, though it makes no functional difference. There is no eagle sticker on the side of the head, rather, that area is milled out on both sides. One side is stamped with the weight, the other has the letters "USA."
Overall this is a fantastic multi-use hammer that should last for decades, and is made in the USA. While only 15 ounces, it does feel like it strikes like a 16oz or heavier hammer.

Did a littel demo work and odd jobs the first day i got it worked great . it is straight, paint was peeling on delivery but its a hammer dont know why that would matter to someone who actually relies on there tools, it rusts easy on the surface but who cares its dependable and rock solid

usueful and practical for handyman to have

Absolutely horrible. The bevel is uneven, the hammer surface area is off, the face of the hammer is slanted. This is f****** b*******. a sad excuse of a $70 “aMeRiCaN mAdE” hammer.
Great, except one thing. (verified owner) –
It can hit nails pretty well. paint chips quite easily out of box, but its construction so, don't baby the thing lol

The paint does come off quick, but like cmon, it’s a hammer idk what you expect to happen. Also the bottom plate comes loose like immediately, but that puppy will not fall off so that personally doesn't bug me to much. Yeah it’s a great hammer, Go Estwing I love it

My grandfather used an estwing. I spent a season framing, using stilettos and martinez hammers, this is NOT that, but for $56 bucks it’s perfect.

The 15 oz Estwing hammer is an excellent tool—solid, durable, and built to last. The one-piece steel construction makes it incredibly sturdy, and the grip is comfortable, even during extended use. It strikes with precision, and the weight is just right for both light and medium-duty tasks. I’ve used it for everything from basic household repairs to more demanding projects, and it hasn’t let me down. Overall, it’s a reliable, high-quality hammer that’s perfect for anyone looking for a durable tool that gets the job done with ease.
