Corte todo mi jardín con estas tijeras y realmente me sorprendió el filo, incluso pequeños troncos los cortó como si nada.

I decided to try alternative brands from my usual and bought these. They are alright, I suppose, but don't really live up to the other reviews that I read. They were very stiff to start out but have become more comfortable to use as the spring loosens up. They are sharp enough but I haven't had them very long so I can't speak to the longevity of the edge.
The one thing that I found really annoying is the little loop to lock them shut. I guess that I can try reshaping it; otherwise I just leave them open, too much effort required to keep them closed between snips.
Another thing that I found disappointing is that, even as a regular user of pruners, I developed a big blister on my thumb the one time that I used them without gardening gloves.
For the price, I can recommend them as a decent set of bypass pruners for the average gardener.

Well built, excellent durability. Still using a nearly identical pair for many years. Handle is thin, and will need a larger hand to operate comfortably.

The media could not be loaded. The Corona BP 3180D Forged Classic Bypass Pruner with 1 Inch Cutting Capacity has truly exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship and quality of this pruner are exceptional. The forged steel construction provides a sturdy and durable feel, making it capable of handling even tough pruning tasks with ease. The 1-inch cutting capacity allows for versatility when dealing with a variety of plants and branches.
I found the pruner to be ergonomically designed, fitting comfortably in my hand and reducing hand strain during prolonged use. The bypass cutting action was smooth and precise, and I was impressed by how cleanly it was able to make cuts without causing damage to the plants. The sap groove feature also prevented the blade from sticking, further enhancing its performance.
The durability and reliability of the Corona BP 3180D were evident as I used it for various pruning tasks in my garden. It tackled both delicate and tougher branches effortlessly, showcasing its versatility and strength. The safety lock feature provided peace of mind when storing the pruner, ensuring that it can be safely kept away when not in use.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Corona BP 3180D Forged Classic Bypass Pruner. Its high-quality construction, ergonomic design, and exceptional cutting capacity make it a valuable tool for any gardener or landscaper. I highly recommend this pruner to anyone in need of a reliable, precise, and durable pruning tool.

I bought my first Corona Bypass Hand Pruners 50 years ago. I’ve had different corona styles over the years but I’m always most comfortable with the simple ¾” cut. This pair that I received is stamped BP 3160 as are those that I have purchased and used in recent years. This new pair though is heavier and feels more like my 1” Corona Bypass Pruners. The spring is a heavier gauge and requires more force to close. The hook has a wider body (profile) and wider sap groove. Additionally, it weighs 9.1 ounces compared to my older, other ¾” clippers (some marked BP3160, 3160 or without model marks) weighing 8.7 ounces. That 0.4 ounce difference doesn’t sound like much, but if you have arthritis or carpel tunnel issues the weight and balance do matter. Trust me, you feel it.
My Catalpa tree hung on to every one of its beans over winter, and a fair crop left from the season before that as well. The last big storm brought them down. I need to get them cleaned up and out of the lawn which is now rapidly growing through them thanks to much needed moisture. Where I live we are still charged for yard waste and I had to drive 1 ½ hours each way to get leaf bags. So, I spent 3 days clipping every one of the lovely beans (most now hard shell and split open into 3 parts each) into 4-inch-long pieces. Why? Because it’s the only ways to get them into 4 trash cans and 4 leaf bags. I spent ½ day with the new ‘beefier’ clippers and the rest of the time with the old. Hundreds of thousand of clips in those 3 days and my old-friend clippers met the challenge. The new ones sat on the side lines.
Don’t misunderstand, the new clippers work great it just takes more effort than I had expected for the same model number and not being able to tell from the listing or the Corona Store pages that the product had changed. I’ll give the 5-Stars because I know the quality, but for the all the product pages that in some places show the same picture for the ½”, ¾”, and the 1” cut I would deduct 1/2 Star if I could. Additionally, the name:
ClassicCUT Forged ¾” with the picture showing BP3160
Corona BP3160 Classic Cut Bypass Pruner with a picture showing BP3160
Corona Classic Cut 8” Steel Bypass also with a picture that shows BP3160
are all on the same Corona Store 3160 ‘SEARCH’ page, each with different price points. If I were to buy all three, would they all be the same? The model number on each picture says that they would be. If they aren’t the same, how would I know how to choose which would be like my beloved and aging pairs?

I think Corona does a disservice to themselves by marketing these as “pruners for small hands”. I wear XXL gloves and I love these. They are small enough to comfortably fit in your pocket whilst tooling around your garden. My gardening is mostly vegetables with tropicals and roses. These are perfect for those applications. The cast construction is far nicer than the molded plastic handles that you normally see. You can’t go wrong with these (unless you’re trying to prune a giant sequoia).
