I only use Colgate Prevident toothpaste because I find that most standard toothpastes have very little fluoride in them (0.243%) compared to Prevident (1.1%) which is what you want in a toothpaste because this is what counteracts tooth decay. You don't need as much either just a pea-sized amount and the added ingredient to protect your teeth from the sensitivities like heat and cold are reduced with continued use. Plus its much cheaper on Amazon than in retail. My only gripe is the price doesn't change regardless of packsize. The regular 100ml Prevident 5000 is Spearmint flavoured and a much thicker gel then the 100ml Prevident 5000 Sensitive that is Peppermint flavoured and quite runny. In addition, there is also a smaller 39ml tube that is Bubblegum flavoured.

I use this as a daily sensitivity toothpaste. I do like the feature that the instructions say that you don't actually have to rinse your mouth after use (in order to leave in on your teeth longer to reduce sensitivity). I find this gross so instead, I do a full brush and rinse, but then do a second brush (with my clean teeth) and only then will I skip rinsing. I believe it has made a difference in sensitivity.. not completely sure.. but it has been a while since wine for example has chilled my teeth so maybe it's working?

Prevident has more fluoride than regular toothpaste. In terms of sensitivity I don’t find that it makes a big difference. I have been using this toothpaste for the last 12 years and have a couple of incipient lesions (almost cavities) that have not changed over that time period. If you have a teen that is going through orthodontic treatment this will be the best thing to prevent cavities. I am not the best at flossing and I feel like this toothpaste has my back. It doesn’t taste as good as other toothpaste but worth it.
