Am so impressed with this product!
I use it in stir fries, soups and curries. Butler Soy Curls are thick, absorbent pieces that give a convincing presentation, mouth-feel, and chew, of large chicken shreds. (Unlike a lot of other soy products).
The price seems high until you realize how much 'curl' you get once it's hydrated. Not more expensive that actual chicken meat, in my opinion.
What a positive difference this product has made to my vegan diet!
Versatile, easy to use and delicious.
They arrived swiftly and in great condition. Store in freezer for longer keep.
You won't be disappointed.

I was recently introduced to soy curls by a friend and I'm so glad I was. I love them, they are so versatile. They really do have the texture of chicken and take on the flavours of every recipe I've used them in. They are a bit pricey but they last me a long time and I think they are worth it. I have Prime so Amazon is the most cost effective place to get them from when I factored in the delivery fee on other sites.

I have just received my third order of Butler Soy Curls. I have found recipes on YouTube as well as enclosed recipes in my second purchase.
My eight year old grandson says they taste better than chicken. I am a Whole Food Plant Based consumer so appreciate I can purchase this product in bundles. I could not find any in my area. I prefer when the pieces are larger than smaller although my second order had smaller pieces. It is a healthy option to eating.

I like the soy curls but at the bottom of the bags there are a lot of crumbs. It would be nice if the whole bag was full of them because then it would be worth the price I paid. I think it’s overpriced but since they aren’t available anywhere else I have to buy from Amazon.

Tastes great and can be used in many dishes. Easy to cook with. Delivery was quick and packaging was great. Would order from these suppliers again

I love Soy Curls but unfortunately they're not available locally so have to resort to buying them on Amazon. I was able to buy a pack of 3 for $30 but now, less than a month later, they're up to $43 which is way too steep for my budget (and the $13 increase makes no sense).
I eat a lot of tofu so being able to change things up with soy curls is great. They're so versatile and easy to cook.
My only complaint (apart from price) is that there were so many tiny pieces and crumbs at the bottom of the bag.
If they ever go back to $30, I'll stock up.

Butler soy curls are a versatile plant protein rich ingredient in many recipes we prepare . It takes on flavors easily. The texture of the curls in recipes is very desirable. This is a high protein food without the saturated fats that animal meats contain. There are now many recipes available using Butler soy curls to add great variety to our diet.

I have bought soya curls before and amazed with a marinade how flavorful and perfect they are on a plant based diet and high protein. Expiry date is great with my purchase in January/25 and expiry/BB is June 17, 2025! You can also store them in the fridge or freezer to keep them longer. List price for 3 was around $35 and is very comparative to buying them in a specialty store (if you can find them).

I wanted to use these to make vegan jerky but unfortunately they arrived crushed. Each of the three bags was unusable. It was a complete waste of money.

These things are awesome. I made a vegan "chik'n" soup with them, and they really do taste like chicken. They are like tofu in the way they absorb the flavor of whatever you put them in (it doesn't taste like tofu), but the Soy Curls absorb flavor way better & faster than tofu does. If you don't overcook them, they have a nice chewy texture, reminiscent of chicken. If you do overcook them, they are still just as delicious, just softer in texture. I will be buying again & again. These are fantastic! I love that they are packed with protein as well. I highly recommend.
EDIT: It's now 4+ years later & I'm still cooking with these with regularity. These are by far my favorite vegan meat replacement.

Best thing ever! I found out about these from Jill McKeever on YouTube since she had recipes for them. I'm not vegan but somehow lost my desire for chicken this year. When I saw Jill's recipes and the reactions of her family members and who couldn't tell whether it was real meat or not, I instantly ordered it.
On my first try, I made a marinade recipe that I had always made with chicken – made sure I seasoned up the soy curls and left them in the marinated overnight and baked them covered in the oven the next day. I could tell no difference whatsoever between the taste of chicken and the soy curls. I'm truly blown away! It was soft, tender, had the texture of chicken, except the soy curls definitely felt lighter in my stomach than chicken would (and trust me, I ate a LOT of it!)
However, if you don't season up the soy curls really good, it reminds me of the taste of tempeh. I've cooked tempeh quite a bit before and to me, it was difficult to get rid of the soy'ish after-taste. But with soy curls, you can marinade that taste away for sure. I haven't tried soy curls in non-marinade or non-saucy dishes like stir fry etc., so I'm not sure how it would be if not marinated or if not cooked in a stew or sauce.
So far, however, I am VERY impressed. Totally wow'ed! Trust me, you can definitely fool omnivores with this one. I plan to keep trying soy curls with all of my previous chicken recipes that I had shelved when I mysteriously lost interest in the taste of chicken.
This review is written after my very first attempt at cooking soy curls but I'm already eyeing the 12lb bag to keep in the freezer. I'm pretty sure I've found my chicken replacement. This needs to be in Whole Foods markets everywhere, but for now, I'm SO glad it's here online.

Meals can get pretty boring sometimes for vegetarians and vegans. Textured vegetable protein and tofu only go so far. The great thing about these soy curls is that they can really duplicate the texture, shape, and flavor absorption of chicken. That makes them a welcome addition, because they are very versatile.
For my first experiment, I made peanut curry soy curls, and they were a big hit at the house. Just insanely good. On top of rice, a little bit goes a long way to fill you up.
My only complaint is that when you buy the soy curls through the mail, I think because of shipping and handling, many of the curls (which are fragile and brittle before they are rehydrated) get crushed and turned into a powder at the bottom of the bag. It's not a whole lot, but I would estimate 5 to 10% loss. If you can find them in your local store, that may be preferred.

I used it to make pulled "pork", and it came out great!
all I had to do was
-let it soak in water w/ liquid smoke and soy sauce for about 20 min
-drain that
-add BBQ sauce
-and cook on low over night
this will be a staple in my cupboards until I die or they quit making it
