Bright Minute Guayusa Amazon Origin
Bright Minute Guayusa Ancestral Origin
The Guayusa (pronounced hua-you-sa) also known as Ilex guayusa, is a native plant of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest.
Guayusa gives the natives the energy to start the day, go hunting and cultivate their gardens. Life in the Amazon is hard and intense and the Indigenous claim it would be impossible to survive without guayusa.
They consider guayusa a sacred herb. They can live to be very old and even in their eighties, they are often fit and healthy enough to go hunting, even in a challenging environment such as the rainforest. They also use guayusa to stay awake and alert when they stand guard at night or to dance all night during rituals.

The tea itself taste okay. I can't say I'm the biggest fan due to the aftertaste. I enjoy green tea and this taste similar but there is a strong aftertaste that is bitter + something else I can't really describe. If it wasn't for the aftertaste this would be a nice alternative. If you enjoy adding sugar and milk to the tea, you can mask most of the aftertaste or if you like a bitter aftertaste then this would be good for you.
I'm also not a fan of the container. It's really big and takes a lot of space and will be cumbersome to throw away. I don't see why it can't be a small cardboard box or multiple tiny boxes which can be flattened when thrown away.

I am a tea drinker. A cup of tea has been very much my daily routine for as long as I can remember. A friend recently recommended that I give Guayusa a try and it has quickly become my new favorite. I like the comforting feeling I get from having a cup of Guayusa after dinner.

This tea tastes great. Even if you never take the teabag out, it doesn't get bitter. It gives me the same awake and alert feelings that coffee gives without the anxiety and jitters. Wish I knew about it sooner.

The tea it's self is otherwise pretty good but the packaging is a waste. The tea bags could have been put into a much smaller box that uses less than a quarter of the material.
I switched to loose leaf which is a much better value and saves a ton on packaging and storage.

Love everything about it. Plus it doesn’t stain your teeth like coffee or tea. Great taste and health benefits.

As an adult, I like this tea in the afternoon to help with the 2 pm slump. My 15 year old cross country runner (also in the gifted program) has switched to bright minute in the mornings instead of her lattes because it improves her focus plus gives her additional energy. In the afternoon the tea is great because it gives you endurance for exercise. Bright minute is the first tea I have found with dual purpose -focus for school and work then performance enhancement for the exercise routine. We also add boba balls to it on occasion for an afternoon treat after school. Our fave is bolle boba balls. This is truly a tea for the whole family.

I had guayusa tea for the first time in the Ecuadorian Amazon and have been searching for a comparable taste in the States since. This is PERFECT. I brew two bags and pour it over ice with cane sugar and lime juice.
