The material this is made from is hyacinth and looks great. It has a pleasant natural aroma to it, and the plastic trash can that goes in fits without gaps, very tight which is an indication of good manufacturing of both cans. The plastic can is made of a good, strong plastic. You can definitely use these as designed, or you can do what I did, which is to separate the two cans and use them separately. The addition of a lid is great to have in case this will be used for food scraps or other items with an odor to them. The lid itself has a pleasant looking and feeling ring-shaped handle. Really into this wastebasket.

This is a nice beefy little waste basket. The rattan is thick and even colored, the bin inside is also nice and thick so no leakage. The only thing I think could be better is if the lid sat straight more easily, but its not a huge deal at all and does not detract from the looks.

I'm replacing a small step trash can with this one. It looks nice and I like the wholly removable lid. The plastic insert (which is recyclable!) will be easy to clean. It can fit in a small space easily. It even smells good right now because of the new hyacinth fibers that it's woven from, which is delightful! This is perfect next to my desk since I'm usually sitting at my desk when I need the garbage can, so the step can I had there before was clearly a bad idea–it's hard to step on the pedal while sitting down. This cute and sturdy little garbage can solves a number of issues and looks great too. Not only that but it's also eco-friendly!

This is a sturdy little trash can. Heavier than I expected it to be.
The lid doesn't fit properly though. It just kind of sits on top. I got this for my nail room hoping to keep the smell of some of the chemicals contained in the trash can. It doens't really serve my purpose but may be good for someone not concerned with smell.
It's very nice looking and, given the sturdy material, is worth what it costs.

This basket is super cute, but it's not very large. As a small waste basket, it would do in a pinch. However, the lid just balances on the top so it would need to be somewhere out of the way where it's not being moved or bumped. It's also a bit on the small side, making it impractical to use as storage except for very small items. I can see this working in a nursery as a clothes hamper, but it's just not very functionable for much more than décor. The piece itself is very nice and aesthetically pleasing, but between the size and the lid not fitting securely on the item, it's not going to function well in most uses.
