I would love to give this a high rating but unfortunately half an hour after taking only one capsule I become dizzy and sick and the feeling stayed with me for hours into the early morning. I am so glad I only took one capsule I cannot imagine how worse I would have been with two. I am sure judging by all the great reviews it works wonders for many people but sadly all it did for me was make me sick. So money wasted for me cause I will not use them again

Before finding this on Amazon, I bought it from a health food store at a much higher price so I was excited to order the same product from Amazon for less. I have had chronic sleep issues for 10+ years. I've had multiple sleep apnea tests come back negative and my doctor has prescribed some hypnotic pharmaceuticals, but nothing seemed to help. I find this Ortho Sleep to be the most helpful. It has a HORRIFIC smell, so be warned, haha, but I take it as I am getting ready for bed (along with my 3mg spray of melatonin). The melatonin allows me to fall asleep easily while the Ortho Sleep keeps me asleep. I get up 1-2 times a night to use the washroom and as long as I've taken Ortho Sleep, I fall back asleep instantly. I am a teacher so I'm off for summer right now and getting around 10 hours of sleep a night (I've always needed 9-10hrs to function). I highly recommend this product for people needing help to stay asleep through the night.

I took this every night for the past 2 weeks hoping to improve my poor sleep. Prior to this I had been taking 100mg of l-theanine (also AOR brand) on its own. The l-theanine improved things but I thought I might try this to improve my sleep even more because it contains not just the 100mg of l-theanine, but a host of other sleep supporting ingredients.
Unfortunately, this actually degraded both my sleep quality and overall time in bed significantly. I also woke up feeling very sluggish, which could last for hours or often the whole day. After two weeks of sticking with this, last night I gave up and went back to the l-theanine on its own… and I slept SO much better! I also awoke alert. So I will be continuing with the AOR Zen-theanine and giving this one up.
It's hard to say which ingredient(s) in Ortho Sleep were detrimental to my sleep. I have previously tried both melatonin on its own (somewhat effective for me) and valerian (not at all effective for me, but not detrimental either) so I think it's one or more of the other ingredients that disrupted my sleep and left me feeling in a fog during the day.
Others have shared positive experiences, so I'm sure this works well for some. If you have a similar experience to mine with this, you might still find luck with one or more of the individual ingredients separately.
ONE FINAL NOTE ON THE SMELL: Other reviewers have noted the strong smell of these pills. The smell comes from the valerian and it's quite objectionable (to put it mildly). However, rest assured that's (unfortunately!) normal and the pills haven't gone bad.

I believe this product is helpful in getting to sleep. It doesn’t taste good and has a bit of an aftertaste even though it’s in a capsule. I will continue buying it until I find a better product.

REM sleep went from an average of 64 minutes to 97 minutes per night. The target range is 90-120 minutes—check.
I'm still working on deep sleep. It went from an average of 44 minutes to 48 minutes per night. The target range is 55-110 minutes.
Almost there, I feel much better, and it worked quickly -8 days.
Before this, I used to take 10mg of timed-release melatonin plus two chewables of Super Sleep, and the results were hit and miss. I got to sleep fast but was still up after four hours of sleep, walking around the house at 2-3 AM. I just thought that's how it is now; live with it.
AOR was recommended to me. I stopped the items above and only took two caps of AOR, which gave me the results above. I added L-glutathione and slept until 530AM for the first time in over six months. I feel good, calm, and clear in the morning.

I do notice my sleep isn't as good if I don't take it.
