This shovel is great. It is light and compact can carry on in case of emergency in my ATV or snowmobile.
The down side to this shovel it has a lot of sharp edges caused by sheering or stamping during manufacturing and can cut trough the gloves or skin, kind of a safety issue. I’ll give it a 3 star due to this.
I had to deburr the sharp edges with a file to make it smooth. Too bad, it had a nice red anodize finish.

The size is perfect for backpacks, I use a 35l bca stash and the shovel head fits flat next to the probe and handle pouch inside the backpack. Now I can fit my crampons inside my backpack because I no longer have that wasted triangle of space that nothing fits in.
The shovel head did come with sharp edges but for any serious boarder or skier that is no issue,I just grabbed my edge sharpener and gummy stone spent 3 minutes and rounded the edges to the point it couldn't even scratch a toddler's skin.
All the pieces fit easy and the buttons depress smooth but before I bring out into the backcountry I am going to work a bit of white lithium grease into the buttons to prevent moister from causing freeze up.
Overall fully satisfied with a collapsible shovel finally😉

I bought two of these, one for each vehicle. These are vital for winter driving in my estimation. The shovels seem well made but one is really difficult to get together, with either the female tube being too small or the male tube being too large. I did manage to coax them together but I’ll probably sand the one tube down for sufficient clearance. Hence the missing star…

Tried it out recently and managed to break up two inches of ice like nothing. Assembly was straight forward, the carrying bag did however freeze shut which took some work to get the shovel out but I will store it in something else in future. I haven't tried the windshield scraper but the design looks good. I am very pleased with this purchase. Definitely my ideal shovel.

I haven't had the misfortune of needing an emergency shovel yet, so I haven't put it to the test in a real life situation. That said it worked well when I tested it in the driveway.

I got this to toss in my trunk in case I ever need to dig myself out stuck in the snow. First off, this thing is really sturdy and shovels well. The scoop isn't very deep, making it a bit more compact but moving snow at a slower rate. Also, when you take it apart, wear gloves. That thing will skin your fingertips if you just wing it. Also, when disassembled and placed in the handy storage bag, it rattles around noisily. Make sure to pack it in with other tools, or keep it fully assembled.

I live in a city and when there is snow, it gets difficult to park close enough to the curb or sometimes hard to get out because the tires slip on compacted snow. I found myself using my hands and kicking snow with my boots to get it away from the tires. Having this shovel makes that much easier! I can clear the snow away from my parked car, or park and clear snow away from the curb so I can get closer. Easy to store in the trunk, great to have.

Bought it after a few really bad snows and needed something compact but large enough to not have to be shoveling for hours to get my car out.
