A significant number of the dried figs are so dehydrated they've become inedible. The skins are hardened and impenetrable to the bite, and the fruit inside is deteriorated to a point where there's nothing to eat.

Extremely Disappointing! This is by far the worst dried fig product I have ever purchased. Upon opening the package, I was immediately met with a musty, stale odor, and to my dismay, nearly half of the figs were covered in fuzzy mold—not the crystalized sugar typically found on dried fruit. The figs that were not visibly moldy appeared shriveled, discolored, and unusually dark, as shown in the attached images. Their texture was brittle, and the sour, almost fermented taste left no doubt that they had spoiled.
It is clear that this product had been sitting on a shelf for an extended period of time. The figs crumbled to dust when handled, indicating extreme oldness and poor quality. This package seems to have been forgotten in storage and sold without any quality control in place. I cannot recommend this product and strongly advise against purchasing it. It is a waste of money on something clearly expired and inedible."
